Faith leaders and faith communities are an integral part of this major policy and moral debate. Many mainline Protestant denominations in Wisconsin have come out against the ban, including three regional synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of American, three presbyteries, and the statewide United Methodist Conference. Numerous Jewish, United Church of Christ, and Unitarian Universalist leaders are also active in the statewide effort.
